Recap of April 25, 2009 Town Hall Meeting <br /> About 40 residents attended the fifth annual Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, April 25, <br /> 2009 at the Mounds View Community Center. A formal presentation began at 10am <br /> when the Mayor gave a "State of the City" speech; Clerk-Administrator Jim Ericson <br /> presented the City Council's 2009 goals and presented the City's new logo to the public. <br /> Residents provided comments to the City Council and asked questions for about a half <br /> hour at the conclusion of the presentation. <br /> There were many booths for the residents to visit in the Community Center lobby, <br /> including City Commission booths, City Department booths and a Housing Resource <br /> Center booth. <br /> 10 B. City Council Approved Robert's Sports Bar Flea Market & Auctions <br /> On April 27, 2009, the City Council approved Robert's Sports Bar's Conditional Use <br /> Permit (CUP) application for outside seasonal sales in the Robert's parking lot. This <br /> will allow for events such as flea markets and auctions to occur in the parking lot from <br /> 7:30am to 1:30pm on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from April through September <br /> of each year. <br /> C. Potential Business Registration Program <br /> The City Council may consider this item at the Tuesday, May 26, 2009 City Council <br /> meeting. The last time the Council discussed this item was in January 2009 when they <br /> directed Building Official/Fire Marshal Kathi Osmonson to draft a business registration <br /> ordinance. <br /> The EDC and Chamber President Tim Roche discussed this potential program on <br /> February 20, 2009 and I forwarded their input to the Community Development <br /> Department to be included in Ms. Osmonson's staff report to the City Council. <br /> Items that the City Council will consider are the draft ordinance, the draft business <br /> registration form and the cost of purchasing software to run the potential program. <br /> D. Mounds View Branding Project <br /> There is a separate staff report about City taglines. Choosing a City tagline will <br /> • complete Phase 1 of the Mounds View Branding Project. <br />
