When I lived in California, I was a member of a City of Hope chapter, and service as Chapter
Treasurer for awhile.
I was also a charter member of the Van Nuys, CA Postal Customer Council, and was serving as
Treasurer of the Council when Deluxe asked me to relocate from California to Minnesota.
I have coached and help coached youth baseball and basketball teams.
Please state your reason for wanting to serve with this group:
My wife and I have lived in Mounds View for almost 25 years, and we are the original owners of
our house in the Silver Lake Woods development. We have raised our children in this house and
the Mounds View community, and we intend to continue living in our home after our children
have left the nest and retirement is our way of life.
As I've looked towards the future with children no longer residing at home and thus having more
personal time available, becoming involved in the community that I have lived in for 25 years and
foresee living in for the remainder of my life has been an interest that I wanted to pursue.
The two City commissions that have been the most appealing for me to serve on are the Planning
Commission and the EDC. These commissions' role best fit the experience that I've had in the
Business world, and they have provided an excellent opportunity to be involved with the future
development direction for the City, and the maintenance of standards that have ahead been
established.
I took the opportunity to apply for the EDC in 2005. I believe my professional experience and my
personal interest in seeing a economically viable Mounds View have aided me in serving as a
capable EDC commissioner. We have both opportunity and need to continue the re-development
of the County 10 corridor and other areas in the City, and I want to contribute to these positive
needs and developments by continuing to serve as a EDC commissioner.
In conclusion, the soft skills that I have developed in my professional career, particularly the ability
to work with others for the overall common goal, position me well to continue serving as a
Economic Development Commissioner who will be committed to working with my fellow
Commission members to reach.recommendations that are in the best interests of the city of
Mounds View, its citizens, and its business community.
