He takes the amount <br />that he normally spends on custom printed cards/postage and instead gives it to <br />Second Harvest Heartland, a local food shelf. Fedtech's annual donation to Second Harvest Heartland is usually <br />$1,000 to $1,500. What a unique way of giving back to the community! Great job Fedtechl <br />Western Bank Receives Three Awards <br />"WESTERN BANK <br />Member FDIC Equal Housing Lender Q <br />Western Bank was recognized recently by the U.S. Local Business Associa- <br />tion, the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce and Minnesota Busi- <br />ness Magazine. Below is a description of the awards: <br />2010 Best of St Paul Award (Banks Category) <br />This is the third consecutive year that Western Bank has received this award <br />from the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA). Nationwide, only 1% of <br />the 2010 Award recipients qualified as Three -Time Award Winners. Each <br />year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved ex- <br />ceptional success in their local community and business category. These <br />are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business <br />through service to their customers and community. <br />2010 Minnesota Keystone Award (Small Company Category) <br />Chosen from nearly 200 Minnesota Keystone companies, Western Bank <br />won the 2010 Keystone Award for giving at least 5% of its annual profits <br />back to the community, supporting such groups at Big Brothers Big Sisters, <br />Center for Victims of Torture, East Side Neighborhood Services, Greater <br />Frogtown CDC and the Jeremiah Program. The Minneapolis Regional <br />Chamber of Commerce started Minnesota Keystone in 1976 to recognize <br />companies that enhance the quality of life in Minnesota by donating at least <br />2% of their pre-tax net earnings. <br />2010 Minnesota Family Business Award (Economic Development Category) <br />The Sands family won this award because they met the Minnesota Business <br />magazine's criteria for being an outstanding Minnesota-based family busi- <br />ness.
