Certificate of Appreciation – Outgoing EDC Member Torri Johnson <br /> <br />Ms. Steinmetz stated that Torri Johnson had served on the EDC for twelve years and has <br />chosen not to reapply. <br /> <br />Commissioner Belting, another long term EDC member, presented Torri with a Certificate of <br />Appreciation for volunteering extensively towards the betterment of the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br />The EDC joined in thanking Torri for her service. <br /> <br />C. Discuss EDC’s April 2012, Unobligated Tax Increment Financing Priority List <br /> <br />Ms. Steinmetz reported that on November 5, 2012, the City Council asked the EDC to <br />expand upon the EDC’s April 2012, priority list for using the EDA’s unobligated TIF. <br />Specifically, the Council asked for a list of potential projects for the County Road 10 corridor. <br /> <br />The EDC had already created a list of corridor projects in February 2012, therefore, the EDC <br />decided to prioritize their existing list as follows: <br /> <br />1. Premium Stop Redevelopment Area <br />2. Implement County Road 10 name change to Northtown Boulevard <br />3. Complete remaining trailway connections to businesses <br />4. Improve the aesthetics of properties located on County Road 10 <br />5. Reconstruction of County Road 10 <br />6. Silver View Plaza <br />7. Simon’s & City-Owned Lot <br />8. Johnson Lot & Related Empty Lot <br />9. Thrifty Car Rental <br />10. Bel Rae Senior Living <br /> <br />6. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Meehlhause thanked Chair Johnson again for her years of service. <br /> <br />He also mentioned that this was his last EDC meeting as he was elected to the Mounds <br />View City Council. He stated the following: “I truly enjoyed the 6 years that I served on the <br />EDC, and the opportunity to serve as Vice -Chair and as Chair for 2 years! Serving on the <br />EDC certainly helped prepare me to become a member of the City Council and Mounds <br />View Economic Development Authority, and helped me to understand the need for economic <br />development. Most importantly, I truly enjoyed working with the other EDC members. They <br />are resident and business representatives who are truly committed to Mounds View, and <br />want to see the community continue to move forward and continue to be a great community <br />to live in!” <br /> <br />Commissioner Helgemoe advertised the Twin Cities North Chamber’s annual Gala on <br />Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Vadnais Height Commons. Proceeds from tickets and <br />silent auction items will help to support the Chamber, which is a non-profit organization that <br />supports small businesses in the area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
