Sept.27, 2013 - EDC Meeting <br />Item 5A – Land Development Planning Proposals <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />On August 16, 2013, the EDC recommended that the EDA solicit land development <br />planning proposals for the site since the latest study of the area was completed in 20 06. <br />City staff distributed a Request for Qualifications to eight firms on September 4 th. Four <br />firms submitted proposals on September 20th. The proposals ranged in price from $12,900 <br />to $21,000. Below is a list of the four proposals submitted: <br /> <br />Firm Project Manager <br />Stantec Stuart Krahn <br />Landscape Architect, LEED Accredited <br />Bolten & Menk Joe Rhein <br />Professional Engineer <br />WSB Brian Bourassa <br />Professional Engineer <br />HKgi Bryan Harjes <br />Landscape Architect, LEED Accredited <br /> <br />City staff is still in the process of evaluating the proposals using the “Best Value <br />Contracting” approach. Proposals will be scored and the project costs adjusted based <br />upon the proposal score. The City Council will be discussing staff’s evaluations at the <br />October 7th Work Session and potentially accepting a proposal at the October 14 th EDA <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />City staff is recommending that the EDC review and provide input regarding each firm’s <br />“Project Understanding” or “Work Plan” as provided in the attachments. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Heidi Steinmetz, Economic Development Specialist <br /> <br />
