Ramsey County acquires land for Rice Creek Regional Trail <br />Ramsey County will acquire 93 acres adjacent to the Rice Creek Commons site to build a bike and <br />pedestrian trail. The multi -use trail will connect the Rice Creek North Regional Trail and the Highway 96 <br />Regional Trail. <br />As a part of the Federal Lands to Parks program, the county will not need to purchase the land, but will <br />be responsible for environmental remediation on the site before it is fully acquired from the federal <br />government. Remediation, which is expected to be finished in 2016, will be funded by the Metropolitan <br />Council and Ramsey County. <br />
