Reports of Staff <br />May 19, 2017 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />If all goes well, the developer plans to submit the tax credit application in June of 2017 <br />and if awarded both the tax credit and housing TIF, would anticipate starting <br />construction April 2018 and completing construction December 2018, finishing the <br />lease-up around June of 2019. <br /> <br />G. Other Upcoming Events/Reports <br />Staff met with a Brewery start-up the end of March. More details will be provided at the <br />April EDC meeting. A tap room business is also in talks with the City. A new business, <br />The Treasure’s Within, owned by Dennis Johnson has moved into the last vacancy at <br />Silver View Plaza. It is a thrift shop. <br /> <br />Carmike Cinemas in Mounds View was recently sold to AMC. The Federal government <br />has required that AMC divest some of its locations so as to prevent creating a <br />monopoly. As a result, the new owner is New Vision Entertainment. They are a brand <br />new company. The takeover will happen in Mid-March and then AMC will continue <br />operating the business for 90 days after the March transaction while New Vision gets <br />acquainted and ready to take on the 18 locations. <br /> <br />H. Reports of Commissioners (Agenda Item 7) <br /> <br />I. Upcoming EDC Meetings (Agenda Item 8) <br />The next meeting will be held June 16, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. as needed.
