Tax Abatement Policy Development.

Economic Development Coordinator Parrish stated with regard to Items A, B, and C, staff is
seeking direction from the EDA to address some of the concerns brought forward by the EDC at
their last meeting. He stated that in the process of developing their work plan, one of the items
the EDC indicated an interest in was developing a Business Retention Visit Program. He advised
that this has been done at different points in the past, and essentially the EDC is seeking
authorization to visit with area businesses, and solicit their input, in an effort to create a business
climate within the community.

Commissioner Marty stated this has been done in the past, however, it has not been done in such
a long time that EDA approval is necessary.

Economic Development Coordinator Parrish stated this was correct. He explained that they
simply desired to insure that everyone was on the same page.

MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty.
