REPORTS

Economic Development Specialist Steinmetz discussed a letter from Ramsey County noting the
EDA received a $100,000 CDBG grant that would be available as early as August. This grant
would assist the City in purchasing and demolishing a blighted property in the City of Mounds
View. The chosen house would be demolished and the lot would be handed over to Habitat for
Humanity. This would be the third project taken on by Habitat for Humanity in the City.

President Flaherty questioned how a property would be selected for this grant. Economic
Development Specialist Steinmetz stated her grant application included eight properties
recommended as candidates and the EDA could review these options. This would allow for the
EDA to discuss the options and make a recommendation.

Commissioner Mueller questioned if there was a timeline on the grant funding. Economic
Development Specialist Steinmetz stated she had provided a timeline for the proposed project
but noted she would investigate this further to ensure the City would not lose the funds.
