EDA BUSINESS 14 <br /> 15 <br />A. Resolution 16-EDA-295 Approving the Special Benefit Tax levy for the 16 <br />Purpose of Defraying the Costs Incurred by the Mounds View Economic 17 <br />Development Authority for Fiscal Year 2017 18 <br /> 19 <br />Executive Director Ericson requested the Council approve the special benefit tax levy for the 20 <br />purpose of defraying the costs incurred by the Mounds View EDA for 2017. He explained the 21 <br />EDA has powers of both the EDA and the HRA. He reported the HRA was proposing to levy 22 <br />$40,000 for 2017. 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 16-25 <br />EDA-295, Approving the Special Benefit Tax levy for the Purpose of Defraying the Costs 26 <br />Incurred by the Mounds View Economic Development Authority for Fiscal Year 2017. 27 <br /> 28 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 29 <br /> 30 <br />8. REPORTS 31 <br /> 32 <br />A. Start Time for the 2017 EDA Meetings (verbal report) 33 <br /> 34 <br />Executive Director Ericson requested the EDA have a brief discussion on whether meetings 35 <br />should be held prior to or following City Council meetings. He explained the Council has been 36 <br />in discussions about changing their meeting start times from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. He noted a 37 <br />Code Amendment would have to be approved in order to effectuate that change. He questioned 38 <br />if the EDA would be available at 5:30 p.m. or if the meetings should be held after the City 39 <br />Council meetings. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Commissioner Meehlhause recommended the EDA meet after the City Council meetings as it 42
