<br />Item No: 07B <br />Meeting Date: December 14, 2009 <br />Type of Business: EDA <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Clerk-Administrator <br /> <br /> Item Title/Subject: Resolution 09-EDA-256, Appointing Members to the <br />Economic Development Commission (EDC) <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> <br />Jason Helgemoe, Gary Meehlhause, and Torri Johnson, have term seats, which expired on <br />December 31, 2009. According to the Mounds View City Code Section 408.03: <br /> <br />The Commission shall be composed of seven (7) equal voting members, <br />including three (3) business representatives and four (4) residents, <br />appointed by the Authority Board of Commissioners based on the <br />recommendation of the Economic Development Commission, from the <br />applications submitted. Members shall have diverse qualifications with <br />practical experience consisting of, not limited to, but including one (1) of the <br />following areas: economics, finance, accounting, real estate, social <br />services and marketing. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Staff received five (5) applications. The EDC reviewed all applications on November 20, <br />2009, and it was the recommendation of the EDC to reappoint Jason Helgemoe (Business <br />Seat), Gary Meehlhause (Resident Seat), and Torri Johnson (Business/Resident Seat). <br />All seats are for a three year term to expire on December 31, 2012. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />It is recommended that the EDA consider these applications, and approve Jason <br />Helgemoe (Business Seat), Gary Meehlhause (Resident Seat), and Torri Johnson <br />(Business/Resident Seat) reappointments to the EDC. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />__________________ <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
