Those <br />discussions most recently evolved into the EDC’s May 16th review and approval of the <br />attached draft Branding Services and Public Communications/Marketing Plan Request <br />for Proposals (RFP). <br /> <br />EDA’s Discussion <br />The EDA also recently discussed marketing at the April 7, 2008 City Council/EDC <br />redevelopment roundtable Work Session. One of the next steps suggested at the <br />roundtable was to develop a marketing strategy geared towards developers and <br />brokers. <br /> <br />Issue <br /> <br />Staff developed the attached draft RFP in response to a formal Motion made by the <br />EDC on April 18, 2008. Through the Motion, the EDC is recommending that the EDA <br />consider generating an RFP to initiate a branding exercise and a public <br />communications/marketing plan for the City. <br /> <br />Draft Based on May 2007 RFQ <br />The RFP was drafted based on the May 2007 Request for Qualifications (RFQ) <br />document distributed to developers by the EDA for the design and construction of a <br />commercial project on the EDA-owned former Premium Stop property. The submittal <br />requirements of the draft RFP are more stringent than the RFQ since the RFP requests <br />proposals, not just qualifications. For example, proposals will have to include timelines <br />and pricing. <br /> <br />Staff has attached the one-page RFP that the City of Anoka distributed in August 2007 <br />as an example of another city’s RFP. Anoka sent their RFP to six consultants, received
