Item No: 10I <br />Meeting Date: December 13, 2004 <br /> Type of Business: CB <br />City Administrator Review: ______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Administrative Assistant <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6407 Approve a Charitable Gambling Permit for <br />the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is , a non-profit charitable <br />organization would like to hold charitable gambling on a permanent basis at The <br />Mermaid Entertainment and Event Center located at 2200 Highway 10 in Mounds <br />View. The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce has operated within the City <br />for a number of years and has always submitted their tax reports in a timely <br />manner. <br /> <br />The Gambling Control Board requires that local unit of government (city or county), <br />pass a resolution specifically approving or denying the Premises Permit <br />Application. This resolution (approving or denying the application) must be voted <br />on and the resolution forwarded to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br />Attached are the Lawful Gambling Application, and other supporting <br />documentation. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the Premise Permit to permit Charitable Gambling <br />for the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, at the location stated above. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />Desaree M.
