Mounds View City Council November 22, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 8 <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Marty stated that the Silver Lake Wood Condominium Association streets aren’t 1 <br />yet city streets, so he was suggesting tabling this item until they are city streets. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Councilmember Quick asked whether the lights were a separate issue from the streets. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Public Works Director Lee stated that they could be. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Acting Mayor Marty asked when the business assistance to Velmeir Company for the CVS 8 <br />Pharmacy would be paid back. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Finance Director Hansen stated that he wouldn’t be in a hurry to decertify more parcels because 11 <br />he wanted to see how things go in 2005 before he made any recommendations on further 12 <br />decertifications from TIF District No. 2. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Director Ericson asked if Acting Mayor Marty was asking how long it would take to generate 15 <br />enough taxes to pay back this assistance, and Acting Mayor Marty stated that he was. Director 16 <br />Ericson stated he had not made that calculation, but it would be a few years before that would 17 <br />happen. 18 <br /> 19 <br /> Ayes –4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 20 <br /> 21 <br />F. Approve Bid Solicitation for Community Center Carpet 22 <br /> 23 <br />City Clerk/Administrator Ulrich stated that there had been attempts to clean the carpets at the 24 <br />Community Center, and they do not come clean and need to be replaced. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Acting Mayor Marty asked if they would be receiving any assistance from the Canyon Grill for 27 <br />the carpet. 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Clerk/Administrator Ulrich stated that the Canyon Grill would be picking up their 30 <br />proportionate share of the maintenance responsibilities for the carpet. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Councilmember Gunn explained how by using carpet squares, sections could be replaced if they 33 <br />became stained. 34 <br /> 35 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Quick. To Approve soliciting bids for the Community Center 36 <br />carpet. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Finance Director Hansen stated that they had been adding $20,000 a year to the replacement 39 <br />reserve for the Community Center fund to cover this cost. 40 <br /> 41 <br /> Ayes –4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 42 <br /> 43
