Mounds View City Council January 6, 2003 <br />Special Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson handed out a letter from the League of Minnesota Cities 1 <br />concerning a claim made by a former golf course employee. He then indicated that the insurance 2 <br />trust claim of John Uline has been settled for the amount of $3,050.00. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated he received a request to utilize the Community 5 <br />Center for the senior safety fair if the facility is not previously booked. 6 <br /> 7 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Authorize Staff to Work with the Fire Department and 8 <br />the Community Center to Determine a Suitable Date for the Fire Department to Utilize the 9 <br />Center for the Senior Safety Fair at No Cost. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Marty said he feels this is a good idea as it provides an excellent service to the 12 <br />senior citizens in the community. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Council Member Gunn indicated she had heard that the seniors really thought this was a 15 <br />wonderful event. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Stigney suggested adding a list of dates the City would like to use the 18 <br />Community Center to the work session for discussion. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated the only other date he is aware of would be for the 21 <br />Home Improvement Show. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Council Marty indicated he was surprised to hear that the City had 11 events at the Community 24 <br />Center last year. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that some of the events may be City meetings and 27 <br />offered to provide information on use of the Community Center at an upcoming meeting. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Mayor Linke indicated that next time the contract is discussed it should be added that all 30 <br />elections take place at the Community Center. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 33 <br /> 34 <br /> 35 <br />10.
