Mounds View City Council January 6, 2003 Special Meeting Page 7 Interim City Administrator Ericson handed out a letter from the League of Minnesota Cities 1 concerning a claim made by a former golf course employee. He then indicated that the insurance 2 trust claim of John Uline has been settled for the amount of $3,050.00. 3 4 Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated he received a request to utilize the Community 5 Center for the senior safety fair if the facility is not previously booked. 6 7 MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Authorize Staff to Work with the Fire Department and 8 the Community Center to Determine a Suitable Date for the Fire Department to Utilize the 9 Center for the Senior Safety Fair at No Cost. 10 11 Council Member Marty said he feels this is a good idea as it provides an excellent service to the 12 senior citizens in the community. 13 14 Council Member Gunn indicated she had heard that the seniors really thought this was a 15 wonderful event. 16 17 Council Member Stigney suggested adding a list of dates the City would like to use the 18 Community Center to the work session for discussion. 19 20 Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated the only other date he is aware of would be for the 21 Home Improvement Show. 22 23 Council Marty indicated he was surprised to hear that the City had 11 events at the Community 24 Center last year. 25 26 Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that some of the events may be City meetings and 27 offered to provide information on use of the Community Center at an upcoming meeting. 28 29 Mayor Linke indicated that next time the contract is discussed it should be added that all 30 elections take place at the Community Center. 31 32 Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 33 34 35 10.
