The Ramsey County Sheriff’s
Office has changed their RMS to a new system (Orion Scientific). The old system (Enfors)
will be supported for a limited time, therefore it will be necessary for the Police Department to
purchase and move to a new system. Several systems are currently being reviewed.
Factors under consideration are:
1. Whether or not the new system will allow the integration of our old records currently
maintained in the Enfors system.
2. User friendliness of the system.
3. Will the new system allow for automatic reporting to the state CJRS database?
4. Whether on not the new system will perform daily downloads of dispatched calls for
service.
5. Cost of the new system.
6. Features of the system.
7. Maintaining and storage of existing records on Enfors.
8. Accessibility of the RMS into a squad terminal via a squad laptop for the future.
9. Will the new system combine several cities, as the current system?
