Mounds View City Council March 24, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Ken Gammel indicated that he would need to purchase a remote control for the automatic 2 <br />switcher and that should not cost more than $100.00. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if Staff would be using the lowest cost bidder. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Ken Gammel indicated that he would be obtaining the equipment from the lowest bidder. 7 <br /> 8 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Approve Resolution 5973, a Resolution Approving the 9 <br />Purchase of Video Decks Not to Exceed $2,700.00. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 12 <br /> 13 <br />9. COUNCIL BUSINESS 14 <br /> 15 <br />A. Public Hearing to Consider an Appeal of the Planning Commission’s Denial 16 <br />of a Variance Request Made by the Property Owners of 2075 Hillview Road, 17 <br />Planning Case VR03-001 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Linke opened the public hearing at 7:30 p.m. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated this request was initiated at the Planning 22 <br />Commission level by the property owner at 2075 Hillview Road and the request was to expand 23 <br />the four-plex to six units. He then explained that it would be permissible by the City’s Code to 24 <br />expand the building’s use provided that all requirements are met and they do not meet the 25 <br />parking requirements. He then said that the Planning Commission denied the variance request as 26 <br />the Commission felt that the property owner should be required to provide the parking as 27 <br />required by the City’s Code. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated he had received a call and fax earlier in the day 30 <br />from the property owner who has decided they are no longer interested in pursuing the variance 31 <br />appeal. He then recommended that Council take formal action on the appeal by approving 32 <br />Resolution 5974, a Resolution denying the variance appeal and upholding the denial of the 33 <br />Planning Commission. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Linke Closed the public hearing at 7:32 p.m. 36 <br /> 37 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5974, a 38 <br />Resolution Upholding the Planning Commission’s Denial of a Variance Request Made by the 39 <br />Property Owners of 2075 Hillview Road. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that the City Attorney had pointed out another 42 <br />clause should be added indicating that the applicants had requested to have the appeal pulled 43 <br />from consideration. 44 <br /> 45
