Mounds View City Council April 14, 2003
Regular Meeting Page 9

Ayes – 4 Nays – 1(Stigney) Motion carried. 1
2
Council Member Marty indicated he is in favor of rewarding employees for their service to the 3
City and commented that it is not uncommon to find employees working after hours and on 4
weekends to ensure that the job gets done. 5
6
7. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS 7
8
A. Just and Correct Claims 9
10
Council Member Marty pointed out Check Number 110647 to Kennedy and Graven for the 11
Hammerschmidt matter for $846.00. He then asked if the $668 for Jakes Café was for the 12
parking lot. 13
14
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that the item references the easements the City is 15
trying to acquire for the trailway along County Road H2 in conjunction with the H2 16
reconstruction. He then indicated that the amounts are not reimbursable from Jake’s. 17
18
Council Member Marty asked if they were donating the land. 19
20
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that Jake’s is donating the land for the trailway but 21
the City has some expense in having easement documents prepared. 22
23
Council Member Marty asked for clarification on Check Number 110679 for $1,200 for the 24
water tank and asked if it was a final payment. 25
26
Public Works Director Lee indicated this would be the last bill submitted until the City 27
authorizes the project to move forward. 28
29
Council Member Marty asked what the miscellaneous item was for. 30
31
Public Works Director Lee indicated that SEH is the City’s City Engineer of record and each year 32
conducts an MSA survey for the City. The next item is for the Gustafson development for 33
engineering review of the site. The next item is for wells one and two to ensure that the City is 34
replacing the right parts. The final item is for mileage as the City pays SEH mileage to travel to 35
the site. 36
37
Public Works Director Lee indicated he is considering adding himself as the City Engineer so 38
that he can handle some of these issues rather than contracting with SEH. 39
40
Council Member Marty asked for further information on the County Road H sidewalk for $2,000. 41
42
Public Works Director Lee indicated that Staff is putting together a feasibility study for that to 43
provide to Council at the next meeting. 44
45
