Item No. 9B <br />Type of Business: PH <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Administrative Assistant <br />Item Title/Subject: Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 6026, a <br />Resolution Approving An Intoxicating Liquor Business <br />License for Budget Liquor <br />Date of Report: June 4, 2003 <br /> <br /> <br />Section 502.08 of the City Code requires that a public hearing be held prior to the <br />renewal of any intoxicating liquor license. The City of Mounds View issued an <br />intoxicating liquor license for Budget Liquor on June 24, 2002, and their renewal is <br />before the Council for consideration. Budget Liquor’s Intoxicating Liquor License will <br />expire June 30, 2003. <br /> <br />Budget Liquor has submitted their city liquor license application materials and the <br />applicable fee. The following investigations and inspections have been conducted to <br />determine whether there is cause for the City to deny any of the above referenced <br />intoxicating liquor license application: <br /> <br />Health Inspections (St. Paul-Ramsey County Department of Public Health) <br />The Department of Public Health conducts annual inspections of all restaurants. The <br />Department of Public Health has issued a satisfactory report for Budget Liquor. <br /> <br />Police Inquiry and Investigations (Mounds View Police Department) <br />The Mounds View Police Department has issued a satisfactory report for Budget Liquor <br /> <br />Utility Billing Inquiry (City of Mounds View) <br />The Finance Department has issued a satisfactory report for Budget Liquor. <br /> <br />Fire Inspection (City of Mounds View Fire Marshall) <br />The City’s Fire Marshall has not issued a report for Budget Liquor. This will be done <br />prior to June 30, 2003 expiration. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Budget Liquor’s application for <br />Intoxicating Liquor License with the condition that the Fire Marshall issues a satisfactory <br />report on their Fire Inspection. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Desaree M.
