Item No. 8I <br />Type of Business: CA <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution No. 6078 Canceling and Re-establishing <br />a Bid Date for the County Road H Sidewalk Project <br />Meeting Date: August 25, 2003 <br /> <br />Background: <br />On July 28, 2003, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6054 approving the <br />plans and specifications and establishing an August 21, 2003 bid date for the <br />County Road H Sidewalk Project. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />Staff has been informed by the City’s engineering consultant, Short, Elliott, <br />Hendrickson Inc. that additional time is needed to revise the plans and <br />specifications to address issues and concerns raised by the Rice Creek <br />Watershed District pertaining to the impacts the sidewalk may have on spring <br />creek. <br /> <br />Additional data has been collected in the form of soil borings and the plans are <br />being revised to address the concerns raised by the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District. This additional work and plan revisions will require that the bid date be <br />postponed. A September 4, 2003, 10:00 a.m. bid date will provide ample time to <br />revise the plans and provide the required notification to contractors as per state <br />statute. <br /> <br /> Recommendation: <br />It is recommended the City Council adopt a resolution canceling the August 21, <br />2003 bid date and re-establishing a September 4, 2003 bid date for the County <br />Road H Sidewalk Project. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Reviewed by City Administrator:___ <br /> <br />
