<br />Item No:08L <br />Meeting Date: September 8, 2003 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Chief Mike Sommer <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution Number 6099, Purchase of a Power Point <br />Projector for the Police Department <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Background: in July 2003 the Mounds View Police Department disclosed the need for <br />a PowerPoint projector to the Mounds View Lions Club. After product research was <br />conducted, specs for a Dell 2100MP projector, with recommended replacement bulb, <br />was submitted to the Lions Club for consideration. The total cost of the package with <br />accessories, including shipping, is estimated at about $1800. <br /> <br />In August 2003 a representative from the Mounds View Lions Club notified the Police <br />Department that their organization had voted in favor of funding the specified projector <br />and accessories as presented. <br /> <br />A portable PowerPoint projector would be of great benefit to the Police Department in a <br />variety of applications. Such a projector could be used on a regular basis to present <br />daily training curriculum to officers, and could also be used in making presentations to <br />the public and or community groups. <br /> <br />Recommendation: staff recommends City Council approval to move forward with the <br />purchase of the Dell 2100 MP PowerPoint projector at an approximate cost of $1800, <br />that cost which is to be reimbursed in full by the Mounds View Lions Club upon <br />submission of a paid invoice. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br /> <br />Mike Sommer, Police Chief <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Reviewed by City Administrator: ________
