Mounds View City Council September 22, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Linke indicated that to stay even the City has to cut because of increases in costs. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Mr. Werner asked why other cities increases for the coming year were significantly lower than 3 <br />Mounds View’s 12%. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Linke suggested they may have had more fluff they could eliminate. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Mr. Werner commented that they may have not been living off the LGA as much. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Mr. Werner indicated that St. Anthony is cutting appreciation dinners but this City does not do 10 <br />that. He then said that employees should not expect appreciation dinners when they work for the 11 <br />City and said he is disappointed. 12 <br /> 13 <br />6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS 14 <br /> 15 <br /> A. Proclamation for Acceptance of Donation of $1500 from the Twin Cities 16 <br />North Chamber for Youth Golf. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Mayor Linke read a proclamation for Acceptance of a Donation of $1,500 from the Twin Cities 19 <br />North Chamber for Youth Golf. He then thanked the Chamber for the work they have done for 20 <br />the City. 21 <br /> 22 <br />B. Proclamation for Ken Manthis, Bridges Golf Course. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Linke read a Proclamation for Ken Manthis, Bridges Golf Course. He then thanked Ken 25 <br />for the work he does for the City. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> C. Resolution of Appreciation to Mike Szczepanski. 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Administrator Ulrich read the Resolution of Appreciation to Mike Szczepanski. 30 <br /> 31 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Approve Resolution 6094, a Resolution of Appreciation 32 <br />to Mike Szczepanski. 33 <br /> 34 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 35 <br /> 36 <br /> D. Presentation Regarding City Fire Inspection Program. 37 <br /> 38 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated he had invited the Fire Chief to this meeting to discuss the 39 <br />special incident as well as the City’s fire inspection program in general and how it fits into the 40 <br />budget and the community and to discuss the operation of the fire department. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Fire Chief Zikmund gave a brief history of the fire code of the City. He then gave an overview of 43 <br />the purpose of the Code and inspections. 44 <br /> 45
