The essential priority is to operate in an efficient manor. <br /> <br />Here is a summary of the Golf Course activity thus far: <br /> <br />1. 2003 Rounds of golf 33,000 <br />2. 2003 Buckets sold 17,000 <br />3. 2003 Golf car rental 3400 <br />4. JRLeague Participation 220 youth <br /> <br />Continuing Education / Professional Enhancements. <br /> Continuing education and training is important to ensure staff remains knowledgeable in the <br />various facets of their position and allows for the broadening of their skill which is a benefit to <br />the community by improving the business at the golf course. An example of some of the <br />training opportunities staff attended include: <br /> <br />• Food Handlers Certification (Manthis). <br />• Minnesota Golf Council Member (Burg). <br />• Midwest Public Managers Association Spring/Summer/Fall Meetings (Burg and/or <br />Manthis). <br />• State Phosphorus Certification (Burg / Parker) <br />• PGA Technology in the Golf Business ( Manthis) <br />• Safety Training, Liability, Beverage Sales, Customer Service (All Seasonal Staff) <br />• Low Voltage Certification (Parker). <br />• Minnesota Turf and Grounds Foundation Annual Conference and Trade Show (Burg / <br />Parker). <br />• Pesticide Certification (Parker) <br />• University of Minnesota Turf and Field Day (Burg / Parker). <br />• Century College Facilities Management Advisory Board (Burg). <br />• PGA 2003 Junior Leader Award ( Manthis) <br />• PGA Fall Seminar (Manthis)
