On October 13, 2003 Mr. Szurek was approved for the <br />step increase from Level C to Level D in the Parks Division of the Public Works <br />Department <br /> <br />Gary Kardell Retirement. Gary Kardell resigned from the Streets Division of the Public <br />Works Department as of October 31, 2003. Mr. Kardell had been employed by the City <br />for over 29 years. Congratulations to Gary! And thanks from the City, Staff, and the <br />citizens of Mounds View for your years of service! <br /> <br />Fluoridation Award. In November, the City of Mounds View received the 2002 Water <br />Fluoridation Quality Award from the Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for <br />Disease Control and Prevention. The award was recognition for successfully maintaining <br />optimal fluoride levels and meeting the fluoridation monitoring requirements of the State <br />of Minnesota for all 12 month of 2002 <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS 3rd QUARTER REPORT July - September 2003 <br /> Water Department <br /> <br />• 209,808,000 Gallons Pumped <br />• 0 water main breaks <br />• Repaired four service lines <br />• 5224 Red Oak Drive <br />• 5135 Eastwood Drive <br />• 2608 Ridge Lane <br />• 7191 Knollwood Drive <br />• Went on peak control electric shut off 2 times <br />• State samples (HAA5, THM, Radon and Fluoride) <br />• Assisted in creating and sending out the CCR report <br />• Repaired 51 MXU’s 14 MIU’s and replaced 2 meter chambers <br />• Installed a 6” water valve at 5167 Red Oak Dr. <br />• Completed lubricating fire hydrant nozzle sections <br />• Switched to running the City’s water production off of discharge pressure <br />vs. tower elevation
