Mounds View City Council January 7, 2002 <br />Special Meeting Page 12 <br /> <br />It was determined that Council Member Marty would attend the Fire Relief Association <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty asked why two Council Members were assigned to the Cable Committee <br />and the Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />City Administrator Miller indicated that there were two representatives last year. <br /> <br />Council Member Marty commented that he felt that Northwest Youth and Family Services was <br />worthwhile and indicated there was not a liaison for that organization last year. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre read through the appointments. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that the Economic Development <br />Commission had specifically requested that Council consider appointing someone to act as <br />liaison to the Committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre agreed to attend the Economic Development Commission meetings. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Thomas. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5679, a <br />Resolution Appointing City Council Members and City Administrator as Representatives for <br />City Commissions and Other Organizations. <br /> <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br /> F. Appointment of Planning Commission Chair <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre indicated that Council needed to appoint a Chairperson for the Planning <br />Commission and noted that the Planning Commission had recommended Gary Stevenson as <br />Chairperson. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that the recommendation of appointment of <br />Gary Stevenson as Chairperson was unanimous by the Planning Commission <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Sonterre/Quick. To Approve the Appointment of Gary Stevenson as <br />Chairperson of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />9.
