Public Hearing and Consideration of Resolution 5703 Regarding the
Longview Estates Preliminary Plat, Mounds View Planning Case MA01-001.

Mayor Sonterre opened the public hearing at 7:26 p.m.

Community Development Director Ericson indicated Mr. Harstad had submitted a revised
preliminary plat for Longview Estates. He then explained that the original subdivision proposal
was for 11 lots and noted since the variance request for reduced lot widths was denied Mr.
Harstad has submitted a plan for 26 lots. He further explained that none of the lots meet the
Code requirements and noted that there would need to be mitigation done for the wetland filled
and that mitigation may not be in Mounds View.

Director Ericson indicated the Planning Commission had recommended denial of the request
because it does not meet the subdivision requirements for the wetland zoning district. He then
noted Staff had prepared Resolution 5703, a Resolution denying the preliminary plat.

William Werner of 2765 Sherwood Road asked what mitigation meant.
