Mayor Linke read the Arbor Day Proclamation and proclaimed May 2 , <br /> 1994 as Arbor Day in the City of Mounds View and the month of May as <br /> Arbor Month. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, read the Consent Agenda. <br /> Mayor Linke asked if there were any items the Council desired removed <br /> from the Consent Agenda. There were no items removed. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Blanchard to Adopt the Consent Agenda as presented. <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> There were no requests or comments made at this meeting. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> • There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> A. Consideration of Appointment to Mounds View Planning Commission <br /> Paul Harrington, City Planner, reported that at the Planning <br /> Commission meeting on April 6, 1994 the Commission unanimously <br /> recommended that the City Council appoint Laurie Ohmann Schley to <br /> the vacant seat on the Mounds View Planning Commission and asked <br /> that Staff pass this recommendation on to the City Council. <br /> Councilmember Trude reported that she had spoken to Ms. Schley prior <br /> to tonight's Council Meeting and Ms. Schley requested that her <br /> appointment be postponed until she could discuss it with Mr. <br /> Harrington. <br /> Councilmember Blanchard stated that there had been a lot of <br /> discussion about persons appointed to more than one commission. <br /> Blanchard reported that Ms. Schley is also on the Charter <br /> Commission. <br /> Mayor Linke stated that Ms. Schley is a good candidate for <br /> appointment and that it makes no difference whether a person is on <br /> two commissions. Mayor Linke pointed out that sometimes having a <br /> 411 person on two commissions ties those commissions together. Linke <br /> also clarified that the Charter Commission is not a City Commission. <br />
