Mounds View City Council Page Eleven <br /> 0 Regular Meeting April 25, 1994 <br /> Councilmember Blanchard stated that the Council's position is to <br /> decide what is best for the community. <br /> Mayor Linke asked Samantha to ask Mr. Wedell and Zach Hanson to <br /> attend the Work Session. Linke said to remind Mr. Hanson to alert <br /> the attendant to help with the illegal dumping. Linke asked Orduno <br /> to let Zach Hanson know that the City is looking to move the site. <br /> Unidentified resident asked if the City of Mounds View is asking <br /> Ramsey County to close or is the County asking the City of Mounds <br /> View to close it. <br /> Mayor Linke indicated that the City is asking the County to find an <br /> alternative site because the existing one is objectionable. Mayor <br /> Linke stated that it is a City park and should be used for city <br /> purposes. Linke stated that in the beginning it was set up to be a <br /> temporary site and it has done irreparable harm to that land. <br /> Unidentified resident stated that the concensus of the audience <br /> liked the site where it is. <br /> Orduno stated that the audience was not asked if there were another <br /> site as accessible would the residents still use it. <br /> Mayor Linke asked the audience if it would be a problem if the site <br /> were moved to an area close by. <br /> Unidentified resident asked about giving the County a short term <br /> fuse for that-property. <br /> Councilmember Wuori reiterated that persons are dumping illegally <br /> at night. <br /> Unidentified resident stated that he has witnessed the attendant <br /> check loads at the site. <br /> Councilmember Quick stated that dumpster loads of trash were hauled <br /> out of the golf course site. Quick said signs were put up saying, <br /> "future home of the Mounds View golf course" and two weeks later <br /> Quick inspected the golf course site and two bags of garbage had <br /> been placed under those signs as well as the sign was decorated with <br /> graffiti. <br />
