Mounds View City Council Page Eleven 0 Regular Meeting April 25, 1994 Councilmember Blanchard stated that the Council's position is to decide what is best for the community. Mayor Linke asked Samantha to ask Mr. Wedell and Zach Hanson to attend the Work Session. Linke said to remind Mr. Hanson to alert the attendant to help with the illegal dumping. Linke asked Orduno to let Zach Hanson know that the City is looking to move the site. Unidentified resident asked if the City of Mounds View is asking Ramsey County to close or is the County asking the City of Mounds View to close it. Mayor Linke indicated that the City is asking the County to find an alternative site because the existing one is objectionable. Mayor Linke stated that it is a City park and should be used for city purposes. Linke stated that in the beginning it was set up to be a temporary site and it has done irreparable harm to that land. Unidentified resident stated that the concensus of the audience liked the site where it is. Orduno stated that the audience was not asked if there were another site as accessible would the residents still use it. Mayor Linke asked the audience if it would be a problem if the site were moved to an area close by. Unidentified resident asked about giving the County a short term fuse for that-property. Councilmember Wuori reiterated that persons are dumping illegally at night. Unidentified resident stated that he has witnessed the attendant check loads at the site. Councilmember Quick stated that dumpster loads of trash were hauled out of the golf course site. Quick said signs were put up saying, "future home of the Mounds View golf course" and two weeks later Quick inspected the golf course site and two bags of garbage had been placed under those signs as well as the sign was decorated with graffiti.
