There were no items removed.
MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Blanchard to Adopt the Consent Agenda as presented.
411 VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR
Ed Murray, 5440 Adams, long time resident of the City stated that he uses
the compost pile a great deal. Mr. Murray stated that a long time ago he
took compost to the University of Minnesota and discovered that Ramsey
County was putting street sweepings into the compost pile. Murray stated
that the compost pile is much better now and he stated that he feels that
the attendant at the site is doing a great job. Murray has not found any
cans, plastic wrappings or lumber in the compost. Murray questioned the
City Council as to—what—he—had heard regarding the City_pu-r-chss±ng some
houses in the park area to enlarge the park. Murray stated that the
purchase of these houses would be alot more than $4 , 000 paid by the City
for clean up of illegal dumping in the compost site.
Mayor Linke clarified that the purchase of those houses has been in the
plan for enlarging that park since 1978 , however, at this time the City
has no plans to purchase any houses. Linke stated that eventually,
perhaps, if the house in the back of the park would come up for sale the
City may consider purchasing it to enlarge the park.
Mr. Murray stated that rumor also has it that the City has been dumping
brush at the compost site late at night as well as lumber from the
• construction of the homes on Long Lake Road.
