Mounds View City Council Page Seventeen
III
Regular Meeting July 25, 1994
Linke stated he will go with what is being said realizing that
neighborhoods turnover and persons may buy a particular home because
there is a park nearby, but in this area there will be no park.
Councilmember Trude stated that in her area people take pride in the
parks and make them beautiful. People adopt the parks and call them
neighborhood parks and identify their neighborhoods with a park. Most kids are in day care and the day
care kids are using the parks and the children that are home alone after
school.
Mayor Linke will vote against this resolution because of the NIMBY
situation but hopes that the resolution does pass.
Councilmember Trude stated that she concurs with Mayor Linke's
comments.
VOTE: 2 ayes 2 nays Motion Failed
Mayor Linke stated that he hopes those in that area will not use
the other parks.
COUNCIL BUSINESS:
There were no Consent Agenda items brought forward.
A.
