1111 Mounds View City Council Page Five <br /> Regular Meeting August 8, 1994 <br /> Wuori thanked the community for their support of Oliver. <br /> Wuori stated that it was a fun process and hope all who <br /> saw the play really enjoyed it and thanked them for <br /> attending. <br /> Councilmember Trude - No report. <br /> Report of Mayor <br /> 1. Mayor Linke reported that he had sent letters on behalf of the <br /> City regarding unfunded mandates along with a resolution adopted <br /> by the City Council asking that there be no more unfunded mandates. <br /> Mayor Linke read a letter of response from President Clinton <br /> regarding the unfunded mandates explaining that he signed an <br /> Executive Order to provide state and local governments funding <br /> when given federal mandates. <br /> 2 . Mayor Linke also commented that the August 22, 1994 Council Meeting <br /> III has been rescheduled to August 29th because of a number of staff <br /> and Council vacations. <br /> Report of Administrator: <br /> Tim Cruikshank, Acting City Administrator, stated that a meeting was held <br /> with Jack Eberlein who indicated that resident respond immediately to low <br /> flying airplanes. Residents should call Mr. Eberlein with concerns so <br /> that he can determine what aircraft it is and corrective action can then <br /> be taken. Phone numbers for Mr. Eberlein can be obtained from City Hall <br /> and are also listed in the Mayor's Message in the City Newsletter. <br /> Cru kshank_aleo_reported_that he_recei ed a—phone call from the_Cit-y <br /> Administrator in Circle Pines who stated that he had heard that both the <br /> Senate and the House on Capitol Hill had approved funding for staffing of <br /> the air traffic control tower at the airport. Cruikshank suggested, that <br /> if the Council so desire, a letter could be sent stating the City's <br /> opposition to this legislation. <br /> Council directed staff to prepare a letter stating the City's opposition <br /> and including the newly adopted resolution passed by the Council <br /> regarding the upgrading of the Anoka County-Blaine Airport. <br /> Cruikshank noted that the Focus 2000 Implementation Plan had been <br /> delivered to the residents last weekend and anyone who did not receive <br /> a Plan should call City Hall and one would be sent to them. This <br /> 1111 Plan is a modification of the old 5 Year Goal Program. <br />
