Mounds View Planning Commission September 4, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated he would prefer to add the additional parking on the Mermaid lot as <br />that would be the easiest option. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson indicated he would prefer that option. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller indicated she would prefer that option. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson indicated he would prefer that option. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hegland asked if weekends at the banquet center would be an issue. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson indicated the banquet center is located at the other end. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated that the Abbey carpet business should not need many parking spaces <br />and noted the other half of the building would be leased out to a similar type of business that <br />would not need a lot of parking. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson suggested that this should come back to the Commission for review if the usage <br />for the building changes. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated the retail designation and the parking requirement for that is the <br />greatest usage required by the City’s Code. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller asked if the fire department had reviewed the plans. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated the Fire Marshall had reviewed the plans and had no problem with <br />the configuration. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller asked when the site plan would be revised to include the four spaces. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated that the revisions would need to be completed before City Council <br />approval. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller asked where the entrances would be. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated there are three entrances on Highway 10. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated the dumpster enclosure is in a good location now but there would be <br />a problem if the area shown as proof of parking needs to be utilized for parking. He then <br />indicated the Resolution has a provision that the Community Development Director would <br />determine a new dumpster location, if necessary. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson asked if a public hearing was required. <br />
