Planning Case VR02-008 <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated the applicant has requested a variance from the front yard setback <br />requirement for signs to construct a business identification sign on the property located at 4759 <br />Old Highway 8. He then noted this is the same type of request as the recent Ace Supply Request <br />but each individual request must meet the criteria in order for the variance to be approved. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated that the Code requires that the sign be located 15 feet from the <br />property line and the request is to locate the sign one foot from the property line. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson commented that the applicant makes a good case for himself in his narrative. <br />He then clarified that a variance of 14 feet was what was being requested. <br /> <br />Eric Lien of Midway Industrial Supply indicated the landscaping would begin one foot from <br />right of way and the sign would be setback about three feet from where the landscaping begins. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson opened the public hearing at 7:27 p.m. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson closed the public hearing at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hegland/Zwirn. To Approve Resolution 711-02, a Resolution Approving <br />a Variance from the Front Yard Setback Requirement to Construct a Sign on the Property <br />Located at 4759 Old Highway 8. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />7. Planning Case DE02-007 <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated the applicant had requested a development review to construct <br />additions totaling 36,300 square feet. He then indicated that the expansions are planned for areas <br />that were designated for future expansion. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated that Staff reviewed the development plans and all City Code <br />requirements have been met. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zwirn asked if this addition was considered when the property was originally <br />developed. <br /> <br />Planner Atkinson indicated that the addition had been planned for with the original development. <br />
