To Direct Staff to Draft a Resolution Granting the <br />Variance for Consideration at the Next Meeting. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 6 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Director Ericson noted this matter would be on the agenda for May 2, 2001 and after it is <br />approved the Gondeks would be able to obtain a building permit. <br />_______________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />7. Planning Case Nos. MI01-001 & VA01-001 <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson explained that the applicant is proposing to split off a <br />tiny portion of land on Spring Lake Road and combine it with a vacated part of Pleasant View <br />Drive to create an 18,236 square-foot buildable lot. Director Ericson noted that the right-of-way <br />easement on Pleasant View Drive needed to be vacated. Director Ericson indicated a park <br />dedication fee is required based on the newly created 18,000 square foot lot. Staff calculates the <br />park dedication fee to be between $700 and $800. <br /> <br />Steve Redfield of 3335 Lee Avenue North, Golden Valley asked if the Commission had any <br />questions. <br /> <br />Chair Stevenson noted he has often walked by the property and wondered why it was not <br />developed. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stevenson/Zwirn. Special Planning Case No. SP-082-00 <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson noted the revision of the Sign Ordinance was a <br />culmination of eight months of work by the Commission and Staff. He noted Staff has made no <br />changes from the last meeting other than putting the revision into ordinance format. <br /> <br />Director Ericson noted Resolution 651-01, a Resolution recommending approval of Ordinance <br />679 would be on the work session agenda for May 7, 2001 and then before Council for a first <br />reading at the following Council meeting and then a second reading and adoption at the second <br />meeting in May. He then noted the new Sign Ordinance would become effective 30 days <br />thereafter. <br /> <br />The Commission thanked Director Ericson for his hard work on the Sign Ordinance. <br />
