Mounds View Planning Commission September 5, 2001 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson reported on actions and discussions that had taken <br />place at the Council’s meeting on September 4th and August 27th, including the proposed sale of <br />2625 County Highway 10 to the Mounds View Animal Hospital, approval of the Mermaid <br />preliminary plat and the approval of the CUP and development review for the Mounds View <br />Animal Hospital. <br /> <br /> b. Brian Kaden <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson indicated that Mr. Kaden had originally sent a letter <br />to the Commission indicating he would like to resign but since then Staff has talked to him and <br />he has rescinded his resignation and requested a leave of absence. He then noted that Mr. Kaden <br />is still very interested in serving on the Commission but is unable to attend meetings through the <br />end of the year. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Miller/Hegland. To Grant a Leave of Absence from the Planning <br />Commission Through December 31, 2001, to Brian Kaden. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 6 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />b. Other issues <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson reiterated that he had received word that the <br />Commissioner of Transportation had denied the permit request for the billboards at the golf <br />course. The next step would be left to the City Council. <br /> <br />Director Ericson also reported that the City closed on the property located at 2091 Hillview and <br />will make plans to assess the property to determine what would be needed to bring the property <br />into compliance with City Code. He further indicated that it may be feasible for the City to make <br />the repairs itself and place the property back on the market. If not, the property will be offered <br />for sale as is with the stipulation that all repairs must be made. <br /> <br />Director Ericson reported that Aaron Parrish had taken a position with the City of Arden Hills as <br />its Planner, leaving a vacancy for his position. He then noted the City would be running an <br />advertisement for the position in Sunday’s paper. <br /> <br />Finally, Community Development Director Ericson welcomed back Joan Lenzmeier, the City’s <br />recording secretary, from her leave of absence. <br />9.
