A brldga would be benef1c1n1 in the future but sh~ <br />didn't feel 1t would be epprovad stncn the need doesn't exist now. <br />Cammissloe Member Burmeister satd it may help demonstrate a need if <br />the ~ity could get something into thls park. She sai~ she couldn't <br />see sidewalks on S11ver Lake Rund but could see them 1n areas that heve <br />a school. <br />Chairperson Haake said Lhe bridge cuuld be moved down to Long Lake <br />Road and it would still combine the north end south areas of Mounds <br />View. <br />Commisslon Member Gtazer sald he felt the pro~ect applied for should <br />be one tha* the City wants very badly and he coudln't support sldewalks <br />on Silver Lake RoaC beaausa the CiCy aireedy has problems with RAd <br />~ Oak. He agreed with a pro~ect for a bridge. <br />,~ Commission Member Fedor asked why the C1ty only has 15 days to make <br />epp1lcaEion. Chalrperso~ Naake said this rles ;eaal.ad July 6th so <br />the Commisslon probably should have dlscussed 1t at teh lnst meeting. <br />Commisslon Member Fedor suggested the C1ty consider applying Por a <br />bigger pro~ect where they can gek as many points as possible. He <br />suggested the Commiss9on cons9der a compleLe sy~tem that w111 connect <br />every park, Mounds V1ew Squere and the C1v1c Center. Yf it does <br />recelve appravat easements for bike paths would have to be acqulred <br />and if in the future Mounds V1ew flnds a need 4or a storm sewer <br />system this may lower the cost for it. <br />Chatrperson flaakQ sald the Perk and Recreatlon Commisslon has apnroved <br />a motton that the storm easements should also be used Por blkeweys. <br />Comm4sston Member Fedor said 1f tha bikeways are approved and tnstalled, <br />1n the Puture they may be able to use the same ensements Por the storm <br />sewers. Chalrperson Haake pp9nted out that the Perk end REcreation <br />Commisslon hes alreAdy come up wlth blkeway peths and they wiit be <br />having a meeting tomorrow n7ght.
