First Reading <br />reading of Ordinance No. 456,, an ordinance amending of Ordinance <br />Chapter 34 of the Mounds View Municipal Code No. 456 <br />entitled "Parks and Recreation Commission", and <br />waive the reading of the resolution. <br />4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />City Planner Herman clarified the intent and wording 20. Discussion of <br />an official City newspaper at the Council's organi- Selection of <br />• national meeting in January, and at that time the Official News- <br />New Brighton Bulletin was appointed for a three month paper for 1989 <br />period only, as there were concerns expressed about <br />the timeliness and quality of service received. <br />Councilmember Quick expressed concern with the length <br />of time it takes from a meeting until the information <br />is published. <br />Mayor Hankner noted the Focus comes out the Wednes- <br />day after the Council meetings. <br />Councilmember Wuori noted people seem to be pleased <br />with the coverage provided in Focus. <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated she was concerned <br />about distribution and questioned whether it is <br />City wide. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley advised Focus and the New <br />Brighton Bulletin are both delivered door to door, <br />by independent carriers, at no charge to the resident. <br />Circulation is close in ''number between the two <br />publications. <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated she has a concern with <br />the problems experienced with the New Brighton Bulletin <br />but she questioned whether the residents will get the <br />official paper. <br />
