Mounds View City Council June 26, 1989 <br />Regular <br />------- Meeting <br />--------------------------------- Page <br />--------------------- Four <br />------------- <br />. Carol Golden, 7417 Parkview Drive, asked for an <br />explanation of the Comp Plan versus the park plan. <br />Mayor Hankner explained the two plans and their <br />differences. <br />Gary Jones, 7405 Parkview Drive, stated he had been <br />trying to get information on what is planned for <br />the park and asked what kind of documents exist and <br />how he could get copies. He added Silver View Park <br />does not appear to be covered in the master plan. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained that in 1980 the <br />City .was still negotiating with Kraus Anderson for <br />the development of that park area. <br />Park and Rec Director Saarion explained how the Park <br />and Rec Commission deals with Silver View Park <br />improvements. <br />Mr. Jones stated he would like budgets, overall <br />plans, drawings, and so forth for Silver View Park. <br />Mayor Hankner advised that Clerk/Administrator <br />Pauley and Ms. Saarion would be able to help provide <br />that documentation. She stated the documents to <br />look at would be the master plan, long term financial <br />plan and past budgets. <br />Dave Radermacher, 7421 Parkview Drive, stated there <br />was a master plan of the park when he bought his <br />home and he does not feel it is being followed. He <br />stated the plan looks good, but he does not like the <br />location of the proposed picnic shelter. He added <br />he feels the lack of adequate park maintenance is a <br />significant problem already. Mr. Radermacher stated <br />development of childrens activities seems to be a long <br />way off, but it is very important. He also pointed <br />out many trees have been damaged and need to be taken <br />care of . <br />Mayor Hankner stated she did not feel the bridge in <br />that area will become a reality, but a study for the <br />bridge has been put in the long term financial plan. <br />for 1990. She added the master plan does include the <br />picnic shelter. She also explained directions change <br />as Councils change and pointed out the government is <br />run by those who show up and voice their opinions. <br />na~~P MaPa ~f the Mounds View Lion's Club, explained they <br />have dedicated $75,000 to the City for the picnic <br />shelter, and Jerry Linke came back to them and asked <br />for another $20,000, which they have turned down. <br />Mr. Linke advised the Lions Club that the City does <br />
