Mounds View City Council July 10. 1989 <br />Regular Meeting Page Nine <br />Ms. Saarion reported the preliminary site plans were <br />Mayor Hankner stated they must keep in mind all the <br />areas the City would like to develop. <br />reviewed with the. residents of the area on June 22 <br />for the Oakwood Park improvements, and she reviewed <br />what is planned. She advised the residents were in <br />agreement. The Park and Rec Commission has recommend- <br />ed the Council approve the improvements as listed <br />in her June 27 memo. The Council was earlier pro- <br />vided with the Park Dedication Fund balance. <br />Cindy Herron, 2146 Hillview, stated she was concerned <br />with childre running across the street and questioned <br />whether the fence was high enough. She added there <br />are a Large number of small children in the neighbor- <br />hood, and she would like to see a stop sign at Hill- <br />view and Quincy and perhaps a painted crosswalk. <br />She stated she is happy with the concept of the park <br />plan but concerned with the safety. <br />There was discussion on the problem of balls being <br />hit out of the park and safety in the street. <br />Mr. Minetor stated-he would have a report on the <br />stop sign possibility available next week for the <br />agenda session. and will address the crosswalk issue <br />also. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Wuori to approve the Oakwood <br />Park improvements as identified in the June 27, 1989 <br />memo from Park and Rec Director Saarion, with the <br />funding to be provided by the park dedication fund. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />19. Consideration <br />of Staff Memo <br />Concerning <br />Oakwood Park <br />Improvements <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the proposal 20. <br />from John Vinton for follow-up sessions to report the <br />results of the management audit.
