Mounds View City Council August 28~ 1989 <br />Regular Meeting Page Eight <br />----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />• Mr. Minetor explained the total cost for the right <br />of ways would be $19,668.07. <br />Mr. .Minetor reported Allied Blacktop Co, has completed <br />the chip sealing, sweeping and striping of the <br />streets designated in .their contract. He has reviewed <br />the pay request, which has an overrun of $479.58, due <br />to the addition of two sections of street not in the <br />original contract, and higher usage of material than <br />was planned. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Wuori to accept the project and <br />approve the final payment to Allied Blacktop Co. in <br />the amount of $55,628.78, to be charged to account <br />#100-4270-705, the street department construction <br />account. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mr. Minetor reported the building inspector Jim Tobias <br />would be on vacation the first three weeks of Septem- <br />ber, and Carl Norlander will be assisting during <br />that time, for 20 hours per week, at $16 per hour. <br />Motion/Second: Quick/Blanchard to approve the hiring <br />of Carl Norlander at $16 per hour, for 20 hours per <br />week, while the building inspector is on vacation. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Ms. Saarion reported they. are accepting community fund <br />raising projects for the Festival in the Park, to be <br />held September 17, and anyone interested should contact <br />City Hall. She also reviewed the entertainment and <br />activities planned. <br />Ms. Saarion reported the fall newsletter will be going <br />out this week. <br />Ms. Hren reminded .everyone the household hazardous <br />clean-up day is scheduled for September 23, and they <br />are still looking for volunteers to help. <br />Councilmember Wuori had no report. <br />Councilmember Quick. reported he had received a letter <br />from Neil Valley, NBAA coach, requesting several im- <br />provements be made at Greenfield Park, and he read <br />the list of improvements requested. <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Carried <br />23.
