~~~ ftQP~~~' ~~a~l9c~ <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />• CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />Regular Meeting <br />August 13, 1990 <br />Mounds View City Ha11 <br />2401 Hwy. 10, Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />The Mounds View City Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Hankner at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 13, 1990. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was said. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmembers Wuori, Quick, <br />Blanchard and Mayor Hankner. <br />It was noted Councilmember Paone was absent. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Meyers and Acting Clerk/ <br />Administrator Minetor. <br />Motion/Second: Wuori/Blanchard to approve the July <br />23, 1990 minutes as presented. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />David Sayer, of the Anoka Technical College, explained <br />they are proposing changes in the way they deliver <br />aviation managecr'rent programs and are planning to use <br />the disabled tower at the Anoka County Airport for <br />instruction and simulation for students. He stressed <br />they would in no way be involved in the air traffic <br />at the airport, and that their program teaches air <br />traffic control. Liability coverage is beyond their <br />means, and students will not be dealing with any <br />actual aircraft. They will work with MAC and the <br />City of Blaine, and will be a business tenant, not an <br />aviation tenant. <br />Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, questioned why <br />they chose the Anoka airport and not another one. <br />Mr. Sayer explained they would like a more central- <br />ized location, but this is the closest airport to the <br />school.
