Mounds View City Council August 13, 1990 Regular Meeting Page Five -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Barb Haake, 3024 County Road I, stated she appreciated the statement read by Mayor Hankner as it helped answer many questions. She cited Minnesota law, Chapter 471.705 Sub. 1 C b, which defines special meetings, and the section concerning emergency meetings. She felt there were some unanswered questions concerning the meetings held, which she hoped would be answered at some point, as well as other questions which remain. Mayor Hankner responded that under the data privacy act, the Council cannot release information, but Mr. Pauley can make a statement, if he chooses to. Attorney Meyers stated the termination did not involve an issue of dishonesty or moral turpitude. Bi11 Frits, .8072 Long Lake Road, questioned what the status or sequence of events was to require an emergency meeting, and whether minutes were taken. He also questioned whether Mr. Pauley resigned before or after accepting the position in California. Mayor Hankner stated there were two meetings, and the Council relied on the advice of Mark Karney and suggested all inquiries be directed to him. She added she does not know if Mr. Pauley had the job offer in California. before resigning, but she does not feel his integrity would allow him to accept the severance package if he was already employed. Dan Snare, 5138 Long Lake Road, stated there are a lot of rumors going around and someone should tell what really happened. Carol Golden, 7471 Parkview Drive, commended the Council for the action they took, and she also questioned who is leaking information out, which is how rumors start.
