Approval of <br />agenda, as presented, and waive the reading of the Consent Agenda <br />resolutions. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Glen Van Wormer, of Short, Elliott, Hendrickson, <br />reviewed. the traffic access study prepared for <br />the realignment of County Road J. He explained <br />the draft report had been presented and reviewed <br />with the Council at the last agenda session, and <br />three public meetings have been held to date, as <br />well as an open house which allowed residents'to <br />meet one on one to have their questions answered. <br />Julie Trudd,, of Knollwood Drive, questioned if <br />traffic would increase by the park if Red Oak <br />Drive is closed off. <br />Mr. Van Wormer reviewed the traffic statistics and <br />projections for that area. <br />Sherry Nelson, 8203 Red Oak Drive questioned if the <br />upgrade of Long Lake Road was taken into consideration. <br />t ~ Mr.' Van Wormer replied it was. <br />Mr. Minetor reminded the Council that Resolution No. <br />3024, which was passed by the Council in April, agreed <br />to study four options, which was done. Other options <br />were not looked at. <br />.. <br />Mayor Hankner reviewed the goals of the resolution. <br />Mr. Minetor explained Red Oak Drive, which is a two <br />lane road, could handle the projected volume of traffic. <br />The pavement would have to be resurfaced, with funds to <br />come from MSA. <br />Ms. Trudd thanked the Council for their efforts to <br />get information out to the public. <br />Mayor Hankner stated they need to develop a policy <br />based on this study to deal with any future traffic. <br />Councilmember Blanchard noted the City has. an <br />agreement with MnDOT that funds will be available <br />later if it is determined a road is needed. <br />Mayor Hankner clarified the City has a letter from <br />Transportation Commissioner Levine, that money will <br />be set aside for up to one year. However, the <br />Legislature could .change the appropriations at any <br />time. <br />Motion Carried <br />11.
