Clark, Chief of Police <br />Item Title/Subject: Title Change – Police Department Position <br />Date of Report: August 29, 2018 <br /> <br /> <br />Title Change From Police Lieutenant to Deputy Chief: <br />After a recommendation from the Police Civil Service Commission for a change <br />in position title for the Police Lieutenant was presented to the Council at a <br />Workshop, the Council made recommendation that the title be changed to <br />Deputy Chief. <br /> <br />The title change is status only, and is not considered a salary item or salary <br />change. The status change will make us current with the Law Enforcement <br />family around us, and places our number two position on an equal basis with the <br />Departments we deal with. <br /> <br />The Department thanks the Council for their input and discussion as well as their <br />consideration in making the status change in the position. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the resolution attached be approved under consent <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />William A.
