<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5537 <br /> <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SELECTION OF THE CONSULTING FIRM <br />URS/BRW TOPERFORM THE WORK AS OUTLINED IN THE HIGHWAY 10 <br />RECONSTRUCTION AND REVITALIZATION PROJECT RFP AND AUTHORIZING <br />STAFF TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT TO COMMENCE THE PROJECT; <br />SPECIAL PLANNING CASE SP086-01 <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 11, 2000, the City Council authorized the distribution of a <br />Request For Proposals (RFP) for a design consultant to develop and recommend a Highway 10 <br />reconstruction and revitalization plan, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in response to the RFP, the City received six project proposals; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after a thorough review and analysis of each proposal, staff selected three <br />consulting firms to interview and obtain additional information; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, upon conclusion of the interview process, the selection committee <br />individually and collectively determined that URS/BRW was the firm that best demonstrated an <br />ability and the experience to successfully undertake and complete the Highway 10 Reconstruction <br />and Revitalization Corridor Study; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the submitted timeline indicates project completion in February, 2002; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the base fee for the URS/BRW project is $75,000 with additional fees for <br />electronic media and Internet communications and additional fees for taking a more proactive <br />role in locating and securing outside funding sources to implement the project. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View does hereby approve the selection of URS/BRW as the consultant to perform the work as <br />outlined in the Highway 10 Reconstruction and Revitalization plan at a cost to the City of <br />approximately $90,000 but not to exceed $100,000 without subsequent Council approval. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds View <br />authorizes staff to execute a contract with URS/BRW. <br /> <br /> BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Economic Development Authority shall adopt a <br />resolution authorizing the expenditure of budgeted tax increment funds to compensate the firm <br />according to this resolution and the executed contract. <br />
