Presentation of Resolution 5517, Certificate of Appreciation to Retiring <br />Deputy Chief James I. Hansen <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre presented Retiring Deputy Chief James I. Hansen with a Certificate of <br />Appreciation and thanked him for his years of service to the City. <br /> <br />B. Presentation of Resolution 5525, Certificate of Appreciation to Retiring Fire <br />Motor Operator John Durkot <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre presented retiring Fire Motor Operator John Durkot’s Certificate of Appreciation <br />to Nile Zikmund, Fire Chief, in Mr. Durkot’s absence. <br /> <br />C. Recognition of Patricia Michna for 22 Years of Service to the City of Mounds <br />View <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre presented Patricia Michna a Certificate of Appreciation for her 22 years of <br />service to the City of Mounds View. <br /> <br />Ms. Michna thanked Mayor Sonterre and said it has been a pleasure to work for the City. She <br />then explained there is a bill before the legislature for a statewide records system and asked <br />everyone to write to their legislators to voice their support. She also thanked city staff and the <br />officers she has worked with over the last 22 years. <br /> <br />D. Resolution 5528, Establishing a Tri-City Task Force to Study the Water <br />Quality of Spring Lake <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 5528, a <br />Resolution Establishing a Tri-City Task Force to Study the Water Quality of Spring Lake. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney clarified this study will be of no cost to the City. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />6. REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre reported he went to the Ramsey County League of Minnesota Cities forum on <br />January 25, 2001 where he voiced his sentiments for removal of a City sales tax and how <br />expansion of the sales tax would impact the City. He reported he also voiced his concerns for <br />transit in the City in light of the fact Mounds View is not in line to receive any form of light rail <br />transit. <br /> <br />Mayor Sonterre reported on January 27, 2001 he and Mr. Ericson attended the dedication <br />ceremony for 2225 Hillview.
