Ordinance 681 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />1002.02: AMENDMENTS TO FIRE CODE LOCAL FIRE REGULATIONS: The <br />Minnesota Uniform Fire Code is amended and changed in the following respects: <br /> <br />Article 1 of the Uniform Fire Code provides the local fire chief ability to adopt local fire <br />regulations. The fire chief may amend these regulations from time to time as needed. <br />Copies of the regulations are available at City Hall or the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Article 10 <br /> <br /> Section 10.207(c) is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "(c) Width. The unobstructed width of a fire apparatus access road shall be <br />not less than twenty four feet (24')." <br /> <br /> Section 10.306(a) is amended by adding subparagraph: <br /> <br /> "(1) All required automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be water sprinkler <br />systems except: <br /> <br /> When large amounts of electrical equipment are involved, an alterative <br />extinguishing system may be considered if the system is designed to provide <br />equivalent protection as a water system. <br /> <br /> In all cases the Fire Department will require a complete review and approval of <br />all fire extinguishing system." <br /> <br />Article 10 is amended by adding the following Section: <br /> <br /> "Notifying Devices <br /> <br /> Section 10.314 Non-monitored automatic fire extinguishing systems shall have <br />both internal and external notifying devices in approved locations." <br /> <br />Article 11 <br /> <br /> Section 11.101(a) is amended by adding subparagraph: <br /> <br /> "(1) Recreation Fires. Recreational fires as those used for preparing food are <br />permitted. The chief may promulgate such regulations as the chief deems <br />necessary to implement this Section 3." <br /> <br /> Section 11.101 is amended by adding the following subparagraphs: <br /> "(e) Open Burning Restriction: Open burning is prohibited except as allowed <br />in Section 11.101(a)(1) and 11.101(f). <br /> <br /> 3 See Section 905.16 of this Code, fires in parks and recreation areas.
