Some <br />language in the current ordinance is unclear in some of its <br />wording, and some of the language is in fact in conflict with <br />existing state statute. The suggested revisions to the <br />ordinance help correct these issues. A possible <br />contradiction that remains between 512.07(Subd. 1) and <br />512.08 should be addressed during the revision process. <br />Language addressing penalties for minors found using or <br />possessing tobacco needs to be inserted into 512.07 <br />(Subd. 4) after the public hearing.
