He indicated they could pause the proceedings to allow the two of them to <br />leave for a brief moment, or consider posting this as a Special Meeting, during which the entire <br />Council could be present while addressing this matter. He pointed out that this could also serve <br />to throw the support of the entire Council and the Police Chief behind the DARE Program. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />City Attorney Long reported that the Airport Legislation would be up for a vote in the Senate the <br />following day, and would also be in the Rules Committee of the House to be put in proper form <br />to go to the House Floor. He advised that if all goes according to plan, the legislation should be <br />before the Senate on Tuesday, and the House on Wednesday. <br /> <br />No further reports were considered. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> A. Approve Just and Correct Claims. <br />B. Licenses for Approval. <br />C. Consideration of Resolution 5436, Authorizing the Golf Course Manager to <br />Undertake a Feasibility Study for the Expansion of the Bridges Golf Course. <br />D. Consideration of Purchase of Exercise Equipment for Community Center. <br /> <br />Mayor Coughlin asked the Council if anyone would like to remove Items for discussion. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney requested Item C be removed for further discussion. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Thomason. To Approve the Consent Agenda for Items A, B, and D <br />as presented. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney stated there is language in this resolution, which pertains to the <br />expansion of the golf course on property that is currently wetland and was previously owned by <br />Sysco. He stated it was his understanding that Sysco dedicated this land to the City subject to a <br />covenant that it would be retained as wetland, which conflicts with the proposal to expand the <br />golf course. He requested clarification. <br /> <br />Golf Course Superintendent Hammerschmidt indicated he has copies of all of the deed <br />documents pertaining to the golf course property, and the City Attorney has reviewed these <br />documents in terms of the feasibility of expanding this section of the golf course. He stated he <br />has never seen any covenants in those documents that place any restrictions upon the use of that <br />land. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney pointed out that if there were any restrictions, this would create a <br />conflict. Superintendent Hammerschmidt stated to his knowledge there were none. <br />
