Item No. 10A Staff Report No. Meeting Date: 2/28/00 Type of Business: CB WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Mayor and City Council Members From: Rick Jopke, Community Development Director Item Title/Subject: Resolution No. 5415 Accepting Comprehensive Plan and Authorizing its Submittal to the Metropolitan Council and Adjacent Communities Date of Report: August 29, 2018 BACKGROUND The Planning Commission has finished its review of an updated comprehensive plan. On February 9, 2000 the Planning Commission held the required public hearing on the comprehensive plan update. No comments were received from the public. On February 16, 2000 the Planning Commission passed the attached resolution no. 605-00 recommending City Council approval of the updated comprehensive plan dated February 16, 2000. The next step in the process is for the City Council to accept the comprehensive plan and authorize its submittal to the Metropolitan Council and to adjacent communities for their review. Following review by the Metropolitan Council, a public hearing will be scheduled before the City Council. Following the public hearing, the City council can then formally adopt the comprehensive plan. Staff will continue to take comments on the plan and report them to the City Council at the future public hearing. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Council pass Resolution No. 5415 accepting the updated comprehensive plan as recommended by the Planning Commission and authorizing staff to submit the plan to the Metropolitan Council and adjacent communities as required by state statutes. ______________________________________ Rick Jopke, Community Development Director N:\DATA\USERS\Rickj\SHARE\022800comp plan acceptance report.doc
